Cute pictures of the boy…

Posted under Out of the Tummy

with Daddy with Mommy  his little goatee  The last picture shows what we affectionately call his “goatee”. He has lost pretty much all of his baby hair- except for that little patch! Too cute huh? Anywho, he is starting to grow a fresh crop of hair and I wanted to catch the goatee before it was gone. Sigh… He is growing too fast!

Visiting with Great-Grandma and the Bests

Posted under Out of the Tummy

Today we visited with Great Grandma (Berg-on Mommy’s side) and the Best family! In the picture you can see Tracy and Anthony- their children Ayana and Ryan are playing out back with Marci. We had a lovely day of food and fellowship :) img_1286.jpgimg_1288.jpg

Solid food.

Posted under Out of the Tummy

Well, our little man is doing so very well! Pretty much everyone is amazed by him (as we think they should be- but then again we are quite biased), and even his pediatrician said that he interacts on the same level as an 8 month old- and he is only 4 months! His weight is right where it should be (50 percentile) but boy is he tall (95 percentile)!! Just like his Daddy…. :) Along with this growth comes changes- the biggest one being big boy food! Below you can see a little tiny clip of him tasting rice cereal for the first time and eating from a spoon for the first time. Enjoy!   Sorry-but it wouldn’t load! I’ll try to figure this out and have something posted soon…

Enjoying his new Einstein play center!

Posted under Out of the Tummy

Well, he’s getting to be such a big boy already! It seems as though his mind is much faster than his body- and he gets frustrated that it won’t do what he wants it to do! Fortunately this play center gives him a nice view of the world around him, affords him ample room to stomp around and lots of new exciting things to look at! Cute lil boy…  Thanks Gram and Grandad- the play center is wonderful!

Visiting…

Posted under Out of the Tummy

With Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Bergimg_1069.jpg We all had such a wonderful day with them! They treated us to dinner at Don Ramones (a mexican restaurant that holds a lot of memories for Mommy-high school graduation dinner and lots of other meals and celebrations) and then sundaes when we got back to the house! In addition to some nice long talks, they got to cuddle and enjoy Aiden to their hearts content! Thanks for a great day!!

Short birth story…

Posted under Out of the Tummy

Lets see… there were no complications as far as labor and delivery go. 17.5 hours of labor (14 at home, 1/2 hour in the car, and 3 hours at the hospital) and our little Aiden boy was born at 2:54-am Thursday the 10th. My family and Michael’s parents were there to welcome him. Michae helped me get through the agonizing hours before Aiden was born… it was incredible!!! We were finally allowed to go home on Friday night. Friends and family came to see the our precious little man on Sunday… Through the stay at the hospital and his first weekend home he had a hard time feeding (breast-feeding is not easy!). The little guy just wouldn’t latch on like he was supposed to! We were given all sorts of advice by the 2 lactation consultants in the hospital… he had to be feed at least every three hours and many times it took him an hour and a half to feed! Oh and Michael and I were running on minimal sleep- we only had about 3 hours of sleep in almost 3 days… we were so excited to have him home but kinda weary too. He needed to eat but what could we do? Aiden ended up having jaundice by Monday. He was not eating enough and lost almost a pound and he wasn’t eliminating waste like he was supposed to either. He had one- if not several- doctors appointments each and every day that week… It was completely overwhelming seeing our newborn son sick, tired, and hungry all week (poor Michael- I cried every day! I was amazed at the incredible work of God- Aiden was so tiny and so perfect! and at other times I cried because I felt so bad for him- he was so perfect and so innocent- he shouldn’t have to hurt), but by Friday he was better. We were supplementing the breast-feeding with formula and he gained back the weight he lost. Thank you Lord! The jaundice was gone, he was finally eating and eliminating normally. :) Now almost three months later, he is doing great! He has colic, which has given him a lot of pain- but is improving daily. He has such a sweet, cheerful disposition! Now that he is not in pain it shows more and more… he entertains us by laughing and smiling throughout the day :oD
